That Day In History

On a whim, I googled “November 22.” Our anniversary keeps some interesting company.

On November 22nd,

1718–The infamous pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach) is killed in battle off the coast of North Carolina (double coincidence!)

1858–Denver, Colorado is founded

1890–Charles de Gaulle, President of France is born

1916–Jack London, author of Call of the Wild and White Fang dies

1921–Rodney Dangerfield is born

1940–Terry Gilliam, director and Monty Python-comedian is born

1943–Lebanon gains independence from France

1954–The Humane Society is founded (they’re one of our registry charities!)

1963–President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, TX

1963–Aldous Huxley, author of A Brave New World dies

1963–C.S. Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia, Mere Christianity, and The Four Loves dies

1980–Mae West dies

1986–Mike Tyson defeats Trevor Berbick, becoming the youngest Heavyweight champion in boxing history

1995–Toy Story is released as the first full-CGI film

2008–Dustin asks Ashley to marry him; she says of course

2010–Wedding bells!
